Email campaigns

From idea to inbox in four steps.

Write the details, design the email, choose who gets it, then review and send. Each step on its own screen, so you always know what's next.

  1. 1

    Details

A name only you see, the subject line, preview text and who it's from.

  2. 2

    Design

Build the email in the builder, in your brand.

  3. 3

    Audience

Everyone subscribed, a group, some tags or a saved filter - with a count of who can receive it.

  4. 4

    Review & send

Preview it, send yourself a test, then send now or pick a date and time.

Before you send

A checklist that catches the embarrassing stuff.

The review step won't let a campaign go out until the basics are in place, and tells you exactly what's missing.

  • ✓A subject line
  • ✓Content in the email
  • ✓A sender email address
  • ✓A verified sending domain
  • ✓Your business name and postal address for the footer

Stay in control

Changed your mind? That's fine.

Schedule
Pick a date and time; unschedule it any time before it starts.
Pause and resume
Stop a campaign mid-send and carry on later, or cancel the rest.
Approvals
If a designer prepares your emails, you can approve each one before it goes out.

Reports

Know what worked, so the next email works better.

Every campaign gets a report: who it reached, what people opened and clicked, and the things you want to keep low.

Delivered
How many emails the receiving inboxes accepted.
Opens
Unique and total opens, and the open rate. A rough signal: some email apps open emails automatically for privacy.
Clicks
Unique and total clicks, click rate and click-to-open rate - the most reliable sign of interest.
Top links
Which links in the email got the most clicks.
Over time
When opens and clicks happened after you sent.
Bounces, complaints, unsubscribes
The numbers to keep low. Problem addresses are blocked automatically.
  • Honest numbers. Rates are only shown when there's something to divide by - never a made-up 0%.
  • Still sending? The report says so instead of pretending the numbers are final.
  • Opens come with a caution, because privacy features in email apps inflate them.

Questions about campaigns

Can I send to just part of my list?
Yes: a group, contacts with certain tags, or a saved filter. The audience step shows how many people match and how many can receive it.
Who never gets my campaigns?
People who unsubscribed, addresses that bounced permanently, and anyone who reported you as spam. They're excluded automatically.
Can I keep editing a draft?
Yes. A draft is saved each time you press Save or Continue, with a version history, until you send or schedule it.
What's a good open or click rate?
It varies by industry and list. Compare your campaigns with each other: is this month's click rate better than last month's?
Why is my open rate so high?
Some email apps (notably Apple Mail) load emails in the background for privacy, which counts as an open. Trust clicks more.
