For developers: add contacts and submit forms from your server

The 404 Emails API lets your own server add contacts, submit sign-ups through a form and read your forms, groups and tags.

  1. Create an API key on Settings → Integrations → API keys with only the permissions you need. Copy it straight away - it's shown once.
  2. Send it as Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY from your server - never from a browser or in a web address.
  3. Start with GET /api/v1/meta to check the key, then use POST /api/v1/forms/{publicId}/submissions to sign people up through a form.
  4. Send an Idempotency-Key header on every write, so a retry never creates a duplicate.
